Rode my 750 to test ride the "New" Supersport.

Verdict: I will be keeping my 750.

Painted rear wheel in 2pack, fitted new chain and 41T sprocket; what a difference that makes. Much smoother on take off and better range thru the gears; as always, should have done it ages ago!

Continued stripping paint from all the difficult spots on the frame. I have a lot of patience, but what a pain in the ass job.

Rode it. First good ride of the year, what a long shitty rainy cold spring we have had here on the west coast. But today, SUN! Took it easy as there's still sand here and there on the roads but so great to be out on the Duc again...
hawkgt and saddleup like this.

NCR oil cooler finally arrived today and as you would expect it's a thing of beauty. Interesting to note that for a component reported to have 58% more cooling capacity compared to stock it is surprisingly light.

OK, I owned a '99 900ss for many years and have ridden the new SS. What didn't you like about the new bike compared to yours? Just curious.

It'll make a big difference. The fact that it looks cool is a side benefit. Have you thought about how you'll mount it? Unsupported, they can be a bit floppy.

Yeah Mike I know exactly how I'm gonna mount it...........I'm stealin' your idea.

It's an excellent solution so I figured why reinvent the wheel.

I've got a brand new upper valve cover from the horizontal cylinder of a Monster motor and I'll also be installing a MOSFET R/R too.

I'm going to make one small change to your design though Mike where that upper oil cooler mount tab bolts to the backing plate for the R/R. (Pic 3) I wanna flip that mount tab 180 degrees and see if I can put a rubber isolator in there as well so that the oil cooler is rubber mounted and floating at all three points of contact.

You'll have share the results and photos Stosh. I've got the RR mounted and the stock oil cooler higher too, but would love one of those NCR coolers.
