Question 848 Broken Shift Pedal Repair

Hey everyone. Long story short, about a year ago I set my bike down ever so gently in a parking lot and bent the shift pedal. Stupid mistake. I had forgotten my gloves and when I went to hop off the bike, I neglected to put the kickstand back down. The bike was still rideable, so I went home and, honestly, I got used to the feel of the pedal and completely forgot about it.

Well a few days ago I went to shift into second and there was nothing there.

I really don't feel like paying for a shop to fix something so minor, but I was hoping someone can answer a question for me.

I've been looking at the diagram on this site:

I was wondering if I need to replace any of the other parts. I'll go ahead and get new o-rings but is it necessary to replace the bushing or the pin? The linkage seems fine. I can shift with my hand no problems. Bike is a 2011 848 Evo.

Donít be a tight-arse. Just buy another, new or aftermarket, and fit it yourself.

just buy a new #18 & #19 as shown in that parts diagram

Repairing a broken fairing or something cosmetic is one thing... repairing a broken frame, brake, or control part is another. Ask yourself if the risk is worth the cost, then let that be your guide. You could probably trade two gerbils and a peanut butter sandwich for a take-off shifter (and still get half the sandwich back in change), but think about going down the road (or worse, track) and breaking a repaired shifter lever. Plus, while I do not know about Ducati, I have seen some broken shifters from other manufacturers that use aluminum alloys that do not lend themselves well to repairs. Even IF it is billet (or some other pure form of aluminum), you will have to have access to a TIG welder, or at the very least, a MIG with a spool gun set up for aluminum.
