So, my 748L came with this butt-ugly and seemingly useless hair net looking thingie on the back seat, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on this. It appears to be a black rubber drawer liner sewn into the nag-strap on the passenger seat. Was this "Lunch Lady mod" standard for the 748L... that some drunken hobo at Neiman-Marcus maybe thought it was a good idea? None of the pictures I have seen online show it. If it is not part of the deal, then I would like to cut it off the strap, because it bugs the living crap out of me! I mean seriously, I expect my bike to dish me up a delicious pile of tater tots every time I look at it. But if it is part of the package, I will go ahead and keep it, just to keep the bike as original as possible. I will be going mono with it, but will definitely retain the original parts when I do so.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I have a customer with a sport classic seat just like that. It is supposed to be a well known set maker who makes them. Not to my taste but ......

Yup, I saw a tag on the underside of the strap that says "Triboseat.com."
Definitely not my taste either, and will be coming off, if it is not part of the 748L package. I would just hate to cut it off if it were part of the original bike.

Thanks for the help.

Anybody know if this was part of the L package (optional)? I highly doubt that it was, and do not think the 748L came with any options, but I wanted to make sure.

Not on any 748L I ever saw. Except yours.
Looks like the modification I┤ve seen on some bikes, diffrent makes and models. Suppose to keep your butt from sliding around, mostly back I reckon.

2010 Multistrada 1200s - engine mapped by tomtom, Íhlins mechatronics SCU and alot of mods to make up for poor skills

I'm just posting to say I find the term 'Lunch Lady Mod' hilarious.

Yup, I have concluded that this never was on the L, and should never have been put on the bike. I just finished taking it off.

Now where is the fun in that? If she hangs on, she's a keeper! But let's not take all the sport out of it! 😉

😁 Wasn't quite sure what to call it.... sort of seemed to fit perfectly.

The bike does look better without it, though I will miss her sloppy Joe's. .
