Front head removal and reinstall

I may need to remove the front cylinder head, so when removing and reinstalling will the valve lash be undisturbed and cam timing won't change if the belt is indexed to the same spot? Am I correct in thinking this? Never pulled head of Ducati.

Should not affect it but I’d go on and check at least, adjust if needed, if I was that far into it.

Why are you pulling the head? If you are doing valve work the cams will come out and every thing needs to be checked and reset. Good idea anyway while you are in there, and I would go ahead and replace the belts, check the valves on the V head. Do it all. Cheers

based on Q, I was guessing exhaust stud broke.

That would be correct sir. Maybe I should just jump ahead on the 15K mile service since I'm at 13k miles right now.

Definitely. You are close enough. No reason not to do 2k early. Better than tanking the whole bike apart again. Especially if you are that deep into it. Imo.
