1260 Pikes Peak First Mods

Finally got the big boy on the road but had to add a few things to make it right for me.
Other than the Touring Pkg and the AntiGravity Lithium Battery, I installed the following:
  • EP Ducati Multistrada 1260 Radiator + Oil Guard + Engine Guard Set
  • DP Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger
  • Navihalter GPS bracket
  • Dynamic Rear Plates and Backrest

Couldn't be more pleased with the quality of all the above.
Next up to complete the upgrades:
  • Throttle Spacers
  • Gearing change (+2R)
  • Tires

Very nice mods! Love the nice clean look of the radiator and engine guard set. Iíll have to add those to my Multi as well.

you'll like the throttle spacer (was NOTICEABLE on my 1260S)

you order the gaurd set direct from Evotech? how was shipping? I really like the look of theirs, but dread the shipping from the UK (and they dont seem to have a US distributor, at least as far as i've seen)

for the gearing change -- look @ changing the front sprocket instead (a -1 up front is worth ~ +2-3 in the rear) -- it's only $40, and only an hour or so to change.

I considered this but went with a rear quick change I could swap out for long hauls easily.

Curious about the throttle spacer. Any link to that? Does it help modulate the abrupt on/off effects?

I'm OK, you're OK

Hi Guys, I'm on my third set of throttle spacers. I just haven't got around to installing them on the Multi yet.
I had them in my Panigale and now in my Monster 1200R. They're great. They eliminate the slop.
Ducati Spacers

As for Evotech Performance shipping. No issues. Previously bought their products for the Monster and Panigale. Top quality IMHO.

I took the throttle assembly apart on my 2016 Multi and I don't see an opportunity for slop in the actual electronic mechanism. The tab on the throttle tube fits tightly into the electronic mechanism without slop. The real problem is that the ID of the throttle tube is significantly larger than the OD of the bars and you can feel the slop as the tube moves back and forth. I measured about 0.006 inch space between those parts. So I bought a sheet of 0.003 inch plastic shim stock from McMaster Carr and cut a piece to slip into that gap between the bar and tube. It made a big difference in the slop. All you have to take off is the bar end and slip the shim into place.

PS: Don't take the electronic throttle mechanism apart because its a Futher Mucker to get back together.

Just installed the spacers. Awesome mod as expected.
I also ordered the 42T solid steel rear sprocket as the 1260 is geared a bit high. A new longer chain is part of the cost of doing business.
Tires will have to wait but now considering DP flood lights if I start riding more at night.

You & I have the exact same taste in bikes, as we've concurrently owned nearly the same models.

In fact, a Multi PP is now the bike I don't have, but lust for.

However, I'm afraid that a Multi, over time, would take the place of all my other bikes (959 Corse, Monster 1200R, Scrambler 1100 Sport, bunch of Harleys).

Besides the track (which I've still never been on), I can't think of anything that my other bikes can do better than the Multi. Can you?

Thanks
