Damn, it died on me on the way to the dealer to get diagnostics pulled, fortunately I was still near work and got it into one of the garages.
Left work, check engine light on, bike loses power with throttle open but idles ok, almost like a fueling problem. I pulled over but no place to stash it, figured I'd see how far I could get; all the error lights and warnings disappear. At a 4-way stop it stalled so I turned it off in the junction (!). Managed to get it started again and limped to the garage trying to keep the rev's up and slipping the clutch like mad. After it rested for a bit I have fuel sensor and engine errors but idles ok. It's low on fuel so this evening I'm going to dump some fresh into it and consider moving it, or calling AAA tomorrow.
Just got it home, barely. As it warms up it starts misfiring, error lights disappear. Throttle open and it seems ok, everyone staring at me at the traffic lights with all the backfiring. Right at the top of my 45 degree hill it loses all power with the clutch engaged but continues to idle, it had to be pushed the rest of the way. Dash says temperature is 165F but the engine cases are very hot. Error lights are still off.
I'm interested in any suggestions as this appears to be more than the fuel sensor...
