Multistrada kickstand

A mechanic for a local shop told me that he heard that dealers will sometimes switch a 2004 Multistrada kickstand for the updated, longer kickstand for a 2005 Multistrada, for no charge. Has anyone had this done? If so, who should I contact, the dealer or Ducati? As many of you have probably observed, the short kickstand that Ducati put on the 2004 Multistrada is super scary. I have almost dropped the bike when it leaned over the kickstand.

dealer... if you watch where you park, you can usually find a sloping area where you can get a more upright position

Yep, or you can carry a small piece of wood with you. Yep, I do.

There was on older guy at my local dealer yesterday looking to lower his multi. They advised he find one of the shorter stands if he did. They had done many of the warranty swaps you've mentioned but sold the remaining parts on ebay. Maybe he'll look on here and contact you or your dealer to buy it from you.
