Michelin does not show a 180/60/17 for the road 5. There IS a 180/55/17 though. I am not well versed in changing tire size.

Yes, 180/55/17 is what I've been running for years.

ST2 tyres - I just finished off a set of pirelli angel GT and put on a fresh set of the new Michelin road 5.
After 2000+ km I absolutely love these especially in the wet, not as Slippy as the Angels and the rear is wearing well so far
I got 10000 out of the Angels, Michelins look like they will equal this or better.
Highly recommend them so far.

This is how I run them

Front (34 psi)
Rear (37 solo, 39 with panniers and 41 with panniers and pillion)
If it is raining steadily I drop pressures 2psi
Front 120/70ZR17
Back 180/55ZR17

Back 180/55ZR17
