Have you done a Nurburgring track day?

Some people dream of that vacation to South Pacific but I want to do a track day on the Nurburgring. Problem is I live in California and don't know how hard this trip would be to put together. The track site has price listed, and even local links to hotels. Can anyone tell me if there are motorcycle rentals? Does not have to be a Ducati. Whats the best time of year for not getting rained out? Are there any riding clubs to do some local riding? Legal issues riding as a tourist?

Any help or advice please,

Thanks

Assume you mean the 'Old' circuit ?

I think you would be best to contact the circuit with your enquiry as sure they would be able to answer most/all of your questions.
FYG UK insurers are starting to exclude the circuit from cover for normal road bikes so not sure how a rental company would feel unless the bike was provided by the circuit but I have been twice and not seen any rentals advertised.

Certainly a great experience but not sure how you will be able to achieve your aim except maybe trying to locate a company that specialises in this area however , again , I have not seen anybody offering track & bikes under one package.

Good Luck

The best experience is to pre-book a Track Taxi. You get to experience the Track in an M5 or M3 with an experinced racedriver like Sabine or similar. Not sure about rental coverage, but it classed as a public tolled road. Heck, even tourbuses drive on it!

If you get it lined up be sure to procure a PS2 and the Tourist Trophy game. It has the full track on it, fun in and of itself, but it can teach you the track. I played cubic hours on that game before I went to Laguna Seca, was very accurate.

BMW has great deals for weekend or week bike rentals. However, I don't know if you could take the bike to the track. Google them and give em a call.
