So +140 kph/+85mph on a highway gets you 3 months suspended license and a €450 fine.
Going faster then +50kph and gets you arrested for wreckless driving and you pay sek200/€20 PER KPH you went over the speedlimit.

I got nabbed doing 140kph in a 70kph zone.
5 months suspended license and €1480 fine.
Needless to say I learned my lesson. Dont pull over.
WTF...? Seriously??? I need to be more careful over there... Thought it was the same as Norway, which is draconian enough already in my opinion anyway!!!
Heres a spreadsheet of last years fines / bans vs speeds... Theyre all increased as of 1st Jan now though so Ill get the table updated at some point before the year ends...
Must remember the bit about not pulling over next time Im in Sverige, thanks...

I guess you dont have to re-sit all your entitled driving class tests though...!

That's the way it is.. the good thing is that cops are few and far between unless your near the big cities. If you get to Stockholm, shoot me a PM and I'll show you enough twisties to last a year!

In the Netherlands it is a ban at 50 km/h or more over the speed limit.
The fine is mostly 10 euro per km/h

Why so serious?

You kidding me? I know that area like the back off my hand. LOADS of great roads. I usually lead afew full day rides with nothing but twisties in "Uppland" every summer. Start at Desmocenter in Upplands Visby and go up to Knutby or beyond. If we meet up, I'll give you a map with everything markes

Yeah pretty much the same here... Keep it sensible in or close to any built up areas, keep it sensible on main arteries, otherwise, pint it
Sounds like fun - Made it as far as Arboga last summer to get some of Tomtoms TLC after your great advice a while back - who knows next summer!!
