As our production run for the R is so low, we decided to investigate the applicability of 3D printed parts in areas that made sense. The mirror stalks and intake trumpets are SLA printed as that process offers tight tolerances and surface finishes. The intake runners however, were FDM printed in Novamid CF. The inner surfaces saw some post printing work to clean them up and get a proper surface finish, but the rest was left as is. I was never a fan of FDM printing until lately... the CF reinforced Novamid is incredibly strong and heat resistant. And the best part is we pay zero for tooling for these things, and can print all 4 runners in a little over a day.

Let me get this straight. One dude bought all 30 to be produced. I can only imagine he wishes to have his own race of just this vehicle exclusively. Otherwise what are you going to do with 30 of these? You can only drive one at a time. If he wishes to enjoy them by having a race at his private track, I am willing to get in his private plane and present for said race. I cannot say that I will let him win.
Beautiful work there sir. Congrats on it coming to life.

Perhaps I could have chosen a better way of phrasing that... All 30 were purchased by existing Mono "owners"...

I don’t want to hear any more noise about ‘football’ from all you Brits... boots are for feet... trunks hold stuff (even the elephant variety can perform that function). 😛
