Modern regulator for Mille?

I'm slowly reviving my bike which is a VeeTwo Alchemy with a Mille motor.
Now sourcing bits n pieces for the electrical system and I was wondering if a shingdengen 3 phase mosfet type regulator will work and how to wire it up.
All the bevel drives had single phase 2 wire alts (?) up till the Mille/S2 where they went to a 2 phase 3 wire alternator. I think Pantah's, Paso's and Cagiva's might have used the same type as stock got used up.

I have seen diagrams where people have connected the upper and lower wire together (see pic) and then connected that and the centre wire to what I assume is a single phase regulator.

Anyone fitted a modern style reg to a Mille and how did you wire it up?

Do you have three yellow wires or two yellows and one red?

My bike's older and only has 2 yellows. I got my Shendingen regulator from Jack Fleming at Roadstercycle: https://www.roadstercycle.com/

I had a few internet discussions with him; he's very knowledgeable.

I have a friend that just went through the same 2 yellow, 1 red question on his '83. I'll contact him, find out what he did and report back.

Single phase is single phase. Find an appropriate Yamaha mosfet on ebay.

Eastern Beaver (best name ever) sells wiring kits: Main

96 916S Marvic mags, Ohlins, Scott's, CF bits & bobs
95 900SS stock but for carbon cans
62 Monza Jr. A whopping 160 with no body parts!
75 860 GT, stock and unrestored runner.

RIP Mr. Nixon. I'm happy I finally got to meet you.
