Contacted Mikuni and they identified the TM 38-86 as the carb of choice for the 70/80s bikes.
They also make a jetting kit and kit to match up the standard choke cables to the flatslides.
Interestingly they have suggested the non-accellerator pump model.

It kind of is SF. I've got a large Japanese Flatslide Carb sized hole in me life:

So you've given up hoping RaiderMoto will get the originals to you?

Hey Rossco,

I don't like the look of those exhaust manifold nuts. I suppose that you are stuck with those as they are probably not removeable from the 2 : 1? I reckon that a full stainless Conti system might be on the future shopping list!

No SF Raider have been great, I have a set of 40mm Dellortos, waiting for them to find what they have done with the manifolds and seals. You know what is really funny? I just looked at the pic I posted and... there are no carb studs. Bugger. Wonder why they removed those and where they left them?

I am interested in the Mikunis because my s2 has 32mm Dellortos. Everyone who has had Mikunis on their bike swears by them, they improve start and idle, and thats gotta be good.

BTW the whole setup for Mikunis from the Australian distributor will come in around $500, inc kits and postage. I could make that $400 by importing them but then you lose the backup. I think that is amazingly good value. Try getting as set of AD Dellortos for that.

Either and they have hammer marks. The rest of the pipe is a work of art, probably replaced with a conti 2:1 last thing, or an set of Imola high pipes.

Thanks for the comments lads.

I think you'd be lucky to get one Dellorto for $500! I put a Mikuni on the first Harley I ever owned, ran perfectly from the get go, never had to touch a jet in there, ever.

They have polished ones for Harleys.
These studs might present a problem, can't find a listing for them anywhere.

Hi Rossco,

The studs shouldn't be a problem: the parts book lists them as 0400.92.433 M8 x 37mm, which is the same as the single cylinder Ducatis. If no-one has them I reckon M8 studding will do the trick.

Cheers for that mate,
looks like Nissan turbo studs and go-cart wheel studs fit.
I'll try and source some genuine studs first.

Found this bike on the web, I think there is a lot to like about it.
The single seat is really cool.
Thanks for your help.
