Model information by VIN from Ducati Denied?

I found a bike I am interested in.
It is a 748R.

Have the VIN, but it does not seem to mach up with the "decoders" i have seen online.
Figured I would email the VIN to Ducati and they would be able to tell me what model it belongs with.

They refused and cited privacy issues.
Was not looking to locate the bike or get information on the owner.
Just want to confirm it is what it is said to be.

I dont understand why they would refuse to help.

What am I missing?

The VIN is ZDM 3H74R 11B007394

When I looked at that link I thought that the "4R" was pointing at it being a "900cc (examples: 900SS, M900e Mike Hailwood)" and "(examples: Mille 1000 Mike Hailwood, 1990 851, 1993 888SPO, 1998 748/S)"

Based on that sheet the 748R should be "3S"

This bike also seems to have all the correct parts, except the numbered badge on the triple.

Thank you so much for the help and support.
Trying my best to learn, read and understand.

I believe it is important to be an informed buyer.

If you're trying to check bike history try cycle vin. It's been registered or titled in the US it'll show up there.
