Captured fasteners
Does anyone know where to get metric captured fasteners? The only ones I have found are $5 per, and that seems a little overpriced. I am going to install a CF Belly pan I just got on my 748, and would like to use screw type fasteners like at the top, but haven't been able to find a good place to get captured nuts. I guess if I can't get a hold of the captured nuts, has anyone taken their screw type fairing mounts off for dzus fastners and is willing to part with the screw type?
Thanks for the help.

Do you mean like the wellnut type?
I know the UK you could get Rawlnuts which were considerably cheaper.....need to find a US version though!

I didn't mean well nuts, though those would work too and I hadn't thought of that, but I was talking about the rivet on type captured nuts.

Pep Boys (and the like) have 5mm and 6mm captured nuts for autobody applications. I use them on fairings all the time......

Ah, OK - I wasn't sure how fairings would stand up to rivnuts or such which is why I thought you'd meant wellnuts......
http://www.fastenermart.com/html/600220000040.html or were you meaning the slide over type?

I agree that rivnuts would not get along with fairings, I was more referencing nut plates. Here is something like what I was looking for

But these seem spendy to me. The slide over type would be great too if you know where to get them.

The only thing I've used in the past is cage nuts - from server mountings...... they push in, I think you might be able to find something similar for slide over called clip nuts (although I don't know what sizes you can get them in)?
