The fairings...meh. whatever. Clip-on, grip and seatpan are damaged but far from unusable.
I think the only real significant damage was to the leathers.
mduc I've seen some HM's on the track and they look like a blast. You have to post once you get her. I strongly recommend Team ProMotion for your first track experience. They are well-organized and fun, a real group of professionals.
And beware the siren song of the track: the best answer I heard to the question "How much does the track cost?"
...all of it.

Glad to hear you are up and running again. I have good news I should have my Hyper next week. I am strongly considering doing a Team ProMotion event this fall. I Hope to see you this fall at the track.

Glad to hear your bike is tracking straight and that your low-side was just cosmetic damage.
Speaking of insurance companies, does anyone know if MetLife covers accidents at track days?
I low-sided mine this past Tuesday and it seems like it's 100% cosmetic. I had my tech do a quick look over and he said it's just cosmetic.

Just for future reference, anyone know if State Farm covers a trackday? My agent says yes, but she can barely spell motorcycle.

I remember...
There was this guy on one of the boards I regularly read that went down on a fruit of some sort, perhaps a melon of some sort (watermelon)?... I cant remember. Anyway, based on the writeup it was totally rider error and he seemed to be angling for the owner of the parking lot to pay for his mistake. Can you imagine???
insurance fraud hurts us all.

Rule of thumb if it happens on the track it isn't covered by insurance. Adjust the steering stop, fix/replace the other bits, and move on. Look at it optomistically, crashes are a great time to upgrade!!!

I just called MetLife and they DO cover trackdays.
Now, the question is: do I file a claim to have my low-side repaired?
I low-sided due to cold tires (I'll never make that mistake again!) so I'm pretty sure if I file a claim I'm sure I'll have points added to my license.
Has anyone crashed at the track and filed a claim? If so, did you get points added to your license? It may not be worth a claim if points are added and my insurance goes up for both my bike and car.

Damage to Leathers
I sent my pants back to Vanson for repair. The woman there called and said the pants looked awful and asked if I was alright. I said I was great, completely unharmed and that I rode off the track. I thought it was a nice touch from a company, but it also made me wonder just how close I was to doing some real damage to myself... knock on wood.
Thank goodness for good quality leather. I think a one-piece Vanson custom suit is in my future. I need some perf'ed leather for those hot days.

I predict within the next year, NO insurance companies will cover track days anymore.
I wonder why???

I know if I were an insurance company I would not cover track days.
I also didn't contribute to the problem by filing a claim.
Vanson said they would have to sew the pocket permanently closed due to damage and weakness along the seam. I guess that is OK. This low-side is an expensive addition to the ducati habit and soon I won't have any money to stash in my pocketses... but I will have my bike!

Speaking of Insurance Fraud; my old agent's securtary asked if I could come in to sign a paper, sounded ok........stopped by..........chatted and began to sign and ask her "this is a blank paper?" She replied, "oh, it's in case Ray needs to change something." A-Hole's. Ripp-offs.
Don't be a rip-off......

Track fairings
Have some buddies who switch over to track fairings on their DUCs and thought I'd listen to their advise. I bought a cheapo set via FleaBay but haven't gotten around to putting them on. Was even toying w/ doing a TPM event next Sat (watching weather) but not sure I'd have enough time to get the fairings setup. Thought I'd just take it easy, keep w/in margins.
Now that I've read your story, I ain't showing up w/out the switcheroo. Also bought a stock clutch cover from another member here to replace the open CF installed on the bike. Now if SpeedMoto would only answer their e-mails. Been trying to get the underbody frame sliders.
What tires were you running? That double apex is tricky off line. My 1st time there the rear was steppin' out even though I wasn't doing much. (Dunlops on a 4.5" 900SSCR rim. Think it was a case to too round a profile. P. Sports solved that issue)
