As others have pointed out, there is no smog test in MA. The inspection is for safety items, such as turn signals, brake lights, tread on tires, etc. Needs to be done annually. Costs $15. I've always had stock rear fenders, so can't comment on what happens with a fender eliminator kit.
Insurance is regulated by the government. I've always used whoever AAA uses (which has always been Commerce). Their rates are competitive, and I figured that they'd pick a company that was reputable (i.e. wouldn't give me a hard time come any payment/settlement time). I've never filed a claim, though.
Having the government set rates isn't the greatest, either. Insurance was notably cheaper for me when I lived in Oregon. On the other hand, it was more expensive for me when I lived in L.A. And mind your speeding, as tickets stay on your record for 6 years, here.

no no, his gardner was going to call him when Tweeter showed up to put the tv in. That showed me 1. he isnt poor and 2. I am in the wrong business! If he was putting a 60in flat screen in his garden I would have walked out!

I work for Tweeter.............Thank God for folks spending lots of money in the right place!
BTW....Be sure you have "Med Pay" on your bike. If you don't, and have an accident and get hurt, the insurance will not pay your medical bills. Your health insurance will pay (if you have health insurance) and then they will subrogate any claims you might have arrising out of a claim.
If you don't have health insurance and no med pay, the hospital will sue you to recover costs.
Med Pay is very expensive.....About $400 for $50,000 worth..........
I hate Massactaxhusetts!

Thanks everyone,
Great help. Right now I think I"m going to go through AAA. I do have health insurance but now I'm going to have to look into the Med Pay stuff. Initially i turned it down.
Dave
PS. I've been riding 3 years no accidents or tickets and they offered me bare bones policy for around $300. Seems good to me.
