Looks like I'm going to need a new sprocket chain kit, so I need some feedback on whether to go with a lightweight 520 chain (with a good chain) set-up or stick with the stock 525 one.

I'm going to try a 15-43 combo, and I would like to here from members here that have or tried the 520 stuff.

I'm leaning towards the 525 because of my 106HP MOD II :D, but that can change based on your feedback. TIA Aloha Alex

Right now, I have an '08 standard Hyper with LeoVince end cans. Fueling is perfect - better even than my Triumph 1050 which has pretty darn good fueling as set up right now.

My only engine complaint (other than the missing reliable, cheap, fuel-efficient 40hp) is that I'd like a slightly wider powerband.

I've got the new sparkly medium tank on order from Chris, and I'm debating getting stacks to go with it.

But two things come to mind - can I still use the stock ECU (the occasional error light from the missing exhaust valve motor is annoying but not devastating), and (mostly) - should I mess with a good thing??

I'm thinking of getting rid of my 1098 to get a Hyper.

Has anyone recently made the switch?? Any regretts?
I still like doing the twisties..but overall I find myself slowing down quite a bit.

I recently bought a Harley and still kept the 1098. I didn't want to give up the sportbike. But now..I'm thinking I might get more use out of a Hyper.

It would be stupid to break my hyper to do it wouldn't it?

Looking to purchase a steering damper for my 09 Hyper S and I was wondering what if any damper the Hyper community favors. I've used Scotts on all my Hondas in the past with good success but Scotts wants to replace part of the triple. Seems a bit excessive to me. Let me know what you run and if you like it...Pictures would be helpful too!

I am looking into changing out Mi Rear Sprocket with a Quick Change setup while she's down for the DucShop flywheel. What is everyone else running? DP's Techno Polymers looks to be the lightest. Any two-cents--with photos worth a thou$and--would be appreciated. Even if You don't have a Quick-Change, it'd be nice to see what's what.

F*ck me!! today while at the top of Glendora Mountain Road, the chain got thrown off! :mad: Scared me at first, :eek: I thought that I had lost the tranny. I'm not sure if I had picked up a rock that got caught in between the sprocket & chain and spit it off, or if it came off on its own. The swingarm is now gouged up, and theres a crack & chunk missing from my Shift-tec carbon hugger. F*CK!!:mad:

Either way, I found the chain was way, way too loose! :confused: I got lucky as the chain wasn't bent too badly, so I was able to reinstall it (just like when you were a kid on your bicycle) and milked her back home.

I had adjusted & lubed the chain just a couple of weeks ago, (it was pretty loose then) when I did the night track-day & only got 4 sessions in, & 1 canyon day, so really not that many miles since the chain adjustment.

I have 15,000 miles on this chain (original) and I may have pushed it too far..... so learn from me, because I am suggesting that after the 10,000 mile mark, really keep an eye on it, and after you adjust it to spec, and it gets loose really quick, replace it, its toast!

Looks like I'll have to give a call to JC Pak & order up a chain & sprocket kit. :cool: Aloha Alex

Just thought these pics may interest anyone with the new 796. I've had the DP titanium 2 into 1 race system fitted and my mate has the DP carbon 2 into 2 system (pictures coming soon).

What a difference this sytem makes! More noise/better sound obviously, but the way the bike now pulls, wheelies and feels is amazing! Everything is smoother throughout the rev range too.

Oh yes, I think it looks fantastic into the bargain! :yeah::yeah:

who makes ride height lowering link for hypers? the only link i see is the ones that come on the "s" model, and i don't even know if that can be lowered. there are a lot of lowering links for 748, 848, 916 etc. on ebay, but do any of them fit the hyper?

I have had some trouble recently starting my Hyper on cold days. At first I assumed the bike is a couple of years old and the battery may be past its used by date. I installed new battery but the bike wont charge over 13.2 volts at max I have confirmed this with a quality multimeter. At that voltage the battery will never fully charge and I am still having issues on cold days It is not a good feeling not knowing if the beast is going to start!
Tip for others trying to conserve battery power: before switching key to on, place kill switch to off and as you turn key to on, press the starter button to turn headlight off. place kill switch to run and press starter button to start bike. This may be just that extra bit of power to fire the bike up.

What is everybody else getting displayed on the dash voltmeter just above idle?
