I bought a billet front brake reservoir cover from LT and cant seem to get it to tighten down properly with the stock Brembo rubber insert. Does anybody know if this part can be discarded or is the fit just supposed to be different with it in place?

Well, the third set of fork seals I've had on my '04 ST4S in two years (~10k miles) has started leaking... :mad:

When I had the forks done last year, my suspension guy noted a couple of dings in the slider coating, and did his best to polish things up, but it appears not to have been successful. It's worse on the left, but both are weeping.

Sooo... new sliders are ~$450 each, from Ducati, and I'm not even sure about availability, so that may be a last resort.

Has anyone had their sliders re-plated? TiN? DLC? If so, who did it and what did it cost?

As an alternative, does anyone know what forks will swap to the later ST4S? I've searched and seen lots of threads on ST3 fork swaps, but nothing on the later ST4S...

<rant on> I absolutely love this bike, but it has been more of a PITA to own than any other bike I've had in 25 years of riding, and I've owned a lot of bikes! The ST is exactly what I want in a bike, and I have no problem dealing with the valve adjustments, but everytime I think things are going well, something else (usually minor, but expensive, and annoying) goes wrong! :p <rant off>

..but a lot of you probably know that already!
He adjusted the suspension on my friend's 1198s and now my friend loves the bike again! We just finished a 3.5 hour early morning ride over not so smooth terrain(I had a harder time of it for sure!) and my friend kept raving about how great the 1198s felt. I rode that bike a few weeks ago and it was a bit brutal for sure. So, thanks Stick! I'll have to get you to adjust mine when you are back down here!

Anyone know what size pistons and seals are on the Front Brembo calipers of the ST4S (2002)

I have recently bought an ST4S and it runs a treat apart when you need to start it, it makes no difference if its hot or cold! The engine is slow to turn over and sometimes comes to a stop then starts to crank again. I have changed to a more powerful battery and have checked all the leads etc...

When I tried to start the bike this afternoon, it really struggled and I nearly gave up!! If it was a car I would think the timing was out? but I'm thinking the sprag clutch might be iffy? not sure what the symptoms are if that is on the way out?

Had an oil service for my ride on sun. and was told my abs isnt working by the tech.Checks on connections and switch was done along w/ a code check and it still not working.I thought the little yellow light was suppose to stay on which it is but it wont turn off.Is being on means off or on ? Any way they are sending a litte note to ducati cause the abs pump is not working,the tech and sevice manager said that the abs should not be going out like this.The part cost is around $2,100. but if i can find a used that would help me out big time,has anyone had theres go out.:confused:

As I was replacing my chain & sprockets on my ST2, I noticed a LARGE wear spot in my rear brake line/hose. (about 1/8 in. deep.) Duc dealer doesn't stock it & says 10-12 days. Anyone have a good experience w/an aftermarket brand? Thanks, Jim.

My ST3 runs and operates great, except the headlight went out. Strange thing is when I touch the high beam "flash" lever the light goes on. Any ideas?

Because of my remote geographical location (from a duck dealer), and desire to tinker I am looking at purchasing the VDST diagnostic tools for tuning, etc. Anybody been there done this, have wisdom to share about this purchase?
Anybody with this equipment willing to rent, sell or share?

Ordered a Scala G4 powerset from performance moto in Michigan yesterday..Should get it here in Oz hopefully in a week or so..
$308... US dollars.. That works out to about $375 Oz delivered...You guys sure get it good with prices of stuff in your country compared to ours.. especially 2nd hand ST prices! I'd prefer to spend my hard earned here but these units here are $699 rrp..bloody ripoff..

Ok. So I replaced both gears & chain. I ordered a chain set & proceded to take the old chain & gears off my ST2. The old chain had a master link w/ a clip stop that just popped off. The new set arrived & it has a pressed /riveted master link. I can't drive the bike to a shop & don't want to spend another $100.00 on a tool that I'll use once. Is there any other options? What about buying a 525 master link similar to the old (520) link. Any ideas at the point are VERY welcome. Thanks. Jim

Has anyone done any performance upgrades to their ST3? Intrested in the TPO velocity stacks, if anyone has tried them would be intrested in how you got on. Also thinking of fitting Magnecor wires as well.
My bike has a PCIII fitted with a Standard ECU, would a DP ECU make any difference or does the PCIII cancel out any gains??

Wow,...

my fuel line popped off the pump again on a long street bike bike ride.

Luckily I had tools and a couple of o-rings in my saddlebag, nearbye farmer let us use his gas tank and funnel, got back on the road in just a couple of hours.

Got about 20miles down the road and it popped off again, %*)@$% it

...these were on the bike I bought and I have searched for specific adjustment instructions but have not found useful information. Can anyone that has these lend me a hand? I want to know how to adjust the bars, not the risers(those I have figured out). There are markings on the inner end of the bars but I'm not sure what they are a reference for and how I can raise the ends of the bars.
