I know others have posted similar ideas but deciding on my next bike is tougher then I thought. I currently own a new 1198 that just got it's first service and I own a 2007 S2R1000 that I love but next I am wanting something to use everyday and possibly light touring. I have been considering a track bike but that probably will be my fourth bike. I am racking up a lot of miles on my monster and want something else to put the miles on. I am also getting rid of my G37S coupe so this, and my wifes SUV, will be my primary transportation.

Bikes I am considering are:

1. Ducati Multi 1200 Sport
2. Honda VFR1200 manual
3. BMW R1200GS
4. BMW K1300
5. Harley Street Glide (probably not but for some reason I did like it.)

I know there are many differences in these and the Harley is really not much in the picture, but I am curious what people think. I will be riding this in some heavy traffic occasionally so I need to factor that in to my choice.

I've searched the web AND the Hall of Wisdom. I'm looking for the Ducati specified belt tension, in Hz, by bike model or engine.

I'm sure there is one printed but I can't find it. I want to have it as a reference I purchased the tool from motoreva for working on my 748. Now I have some other bikes to work on and would like to make use of the tool but... I can't find a listing of the specs for the various models. Any help would be appreciated.

So my driving record is catching up to me and i think maybe i need to stop riding on the street. I don't want to get rid of my bike. I love the damn thing too much. However, I have the grey S model and don't think it would be smart to track that body work or even paint it. I'm not selling the bike for a LONG time so putting the body work on it later would be of no benefit to me. I'd rather sell it.

The plan is to strip it down to the frame. Get it powder coated (i found a little rust on it) slap a 996 motor in it and rebuild from the ground up.

Soon to be for sale will be pretty much everything on the bike lol. It's my winter project.

What would all of this be worth? I am looking to sell

All bodywork, mirrors, double bubble windscreen. gas tank and the red wheels.

It's the mono tail. Body work is in between good and great. Wheels are in good shape. No dents in gas tank and would come with billet quick release gas cap (Red)

I have pictures of the bike in my profile. Take a look. Being that only 250 of these were made (even though it's not considered rare) I'd hate to rash up these plastics.

....the bike you want right now? I wonder sometimes how many of us have the bike(s) we want and, if not, what do we want. I have an '05 SS1000DS and an '02 Bayliss 998S and feel like I have just what I want and need. Just wondering if anyone else is satisfied and, if not, why not? Or, if so, why?

I have just arrived to the US, planning a bike trip around SoCal, yesterday I got an email from racyrentals.com (rentaducati.com partner site) telling me that he sold all the bikes due to health reasons.....I was planning on picking up the bikes next wednesday.....:(

Does anyone know any other place to rent? There was a place also (sportbikerental.com) but last time I wrote to them they were going out of business.

Please let me know any possibilities, it could also be non ducati (I know Long beach BMW rents R1200GS bikes but really wanted a duc)

I was told that the State of Calif is trying to pass a law (Stock mufflers only)....So no aftermarket pipes at all.....

saw this 999 on the island at indy, what tail and pipes are those? wanted to get a better pic but could not because of how it was parked. I love the look but couldnt get a view from behind

I have decided to get yet another job to help speed up the process to buying my first Duc, I figure a few months of no social life will be justified with my first canyon ride!:)
