THE NEW FLEDA-DR-WD-GT (Flexible LED Array-Dual Row- Watsen Design - Ducati Sport Classic GT-1000)
After almost 2 years of requests for a FLEDA System for the GT-1000 I finally came up with a design that seems reasonable. The interesting part of this design is that it has been staring me in the face for almost 2 years. I am using the same basic FLEDA-Dual Row plate but in the case of the GT I have flipped it over. I was able to get my local shop to remove the tail section from one of their GT-1000s to test my initial design. I then contacted NIMI on Ducati.ms and he agreed to help out using his GT as a test bed. All the photos and movies are from NIMI.
I chose to use the Watsen Design Turn Signals for a couple of reasons.
First off the Watsen Design Turn Signals allow me to keep the price down on the complete system. A FLEDA-NX-DR System sells for
$495 USD, where as I am able to offer the
FLEDA-DR-WD and the FLEDA-DR-WD-GT for
$349 USD.
Secondly, because the FLEDA plate for the GT mounts upside down compared to the other FLEDA Systems I have very little room for all the "electronics" required with a
FLEDA-Next Generation System.
The above pricing does NOT include the license plate bracket and black illuminated frame. The license plate setups, both the one that attached to the bottom of the FLEDA Systems and the "tucked" version that mounts to the front of the sub-frame pan up by the battery sell for
$99 USD.
PLEASE NOTE: The FLEDA-DR-WD-GT System shown in the attached photos is a prototype. The production units will have a LOT less hardware and NO hole plugs in the FLEDA plate. Additionally the license plate bracket will fit MUCH closer to the FLEDA plate.
