Thanks much for the replies, Dietrich and guys!
One of our board members is doing some really serious upgrading to his brand new PS and has kindly offered to sell me his OEM wheels and tires, plus some other goodies. I'm going for it. I'm thinking that this will help reduce the GT's unsprung weight, and maybe improve the performance of the stock shocks and forks, which I otherwise like the looks of.
I just hope that he posts pics of his bike here as it's going to be amazing!
