Brand new EVO SP stalling
I just bought a 2010 Hyper EVO SP, full 2-1 Termi installed before taking delivery of the bike. Lovbe the bike, but it has a problem I am sadly familiar with.
My last Ducati, a 2007 1098S, was sold after a frustrating year of incessant and apparently unfixable stalling, I really don't want the Hyper to be the same way. It was my impression the full system solves any stalling/dying issues the Hyper might have, so this time I went for it from the get go.
The bike only has 120 miles on the clock, but the problem is consistent and easy to reproduce. When I first start the bike cold everything is fine... get up in the morning, ride a few miles in town to a freeway, stop and go, all good. Once I get to the freeway and go for a while (say, 10 or 15 miles, trying to always mix revs and never holding steady throttle for very long) I get off and, sure enough, no matter how hard I try every time I pull the clutch in the engine shuts off. It'll do this consistently from this point on until I stop.
Needless to say, this is very dangerous - the bike is basically unridable and it is impossible to take to a canyon, much less the track, when each downshift could result in the engine shutting off under me.
So... please advise on the proper course of action. Since I assume most people with this bike and exhaust don't have this issue, could it be just a TPS/Air setting problem? I'll take her back to the dealer this week... what should I tell them to try first?
I appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

I could be way off on this so with that said, take it for what it's worth. Hopefully someone else the really knows will chime in.
I just changed the ECU for the Termi Slip-on I installed (2008 Hyper). I ran with the stock ECU for a short while as I waited for a VDSTS so that I could reset my TPS. Both with the stock exhaust and the slip-on, the idle was a bit rough and would stall occasionally. It never did what yours is doing, but occasionally.
While I was into the ECU with the VDSTS, I did the usual resets and I decided that it was such a cool tool that I would "look around" in it for a bit. I saw that I had access to the fuel trim at idle and although I had decided that I probably wouldn't mess with it, I figured it wouldn't hurt to experiment (famous last words).
Well, I ended up setting the fuel trim to +6. I tried going higher and lower and this is where the idle seemed to be the smoothest and most consistant. I disconnected the VDSTS for fear of really screwing something up and left it at +6.
Since then, the bike idles perfectly. It used to take me several tries to get it to idle on cold starts (lightened flywheel doesn't help) but now I hit the button and she fires and runs like a champ. It doesn't stumble on a clutch pull like it used to occasionally, now it just purrs.
I don't know if you have those kind of options with the Siemans ECU but I wouldn't think it could hurt to try the fuel trim thing out. Maybe it's just that simple....

As others have stated, take it back to the dealer and have tps reset and as Dave said have them raise the fuel trim , also have them syc the throttle bodies and adjust the air bleed screws.
If that doesnt work, tell them the bike is dangerous and you want your money back.
You should get some action then

Thanks everyone - I will tell the dealer all of the above and have them do as requested on Thursday morning. I will report back right after for sure.

Your dealer probably did'nt set up and dial it in after the pipe install. We have to fix other dealer's installs pretty often,

Well, I hope they take care of it, otherwise you'll see me soon enough...
Do you work in Pasadena by any chance?
EDIT: Sorry, meant Glendale...

I heard the guys in Glendale really know what they are doing with service and other repairs on the Ducatis. Give them a try because I think you will be happy with the result.
