So, what's the highest temp you guys have seen?
Last weekend, on friday the 5th of November, I saw 271f on my Hyper. Here are the specs: 80-85 degree sunny day at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, 27,500 miles on the bike, Maxima synthetic 20-50 oil with about 1500 miles since new. The bike ran flawlessly and fast. Any thoughts?

That temp range is normal for track use on a warm day. I have a oversize oil cooler on mine and it never gets over 235 on track. The second best upgrade i've done.

330F. 90F outside, humid and sitcky. Stuck in bumper to bumper traffic - moved about 6 miles in one hour with superhot blacktop reflecting sun's rays- all of which was stop and go.
2009 Hyper - stock- with 3600 miles on the clock. Fresh oil, fully synthetic 10W-40. Once I got moving again the temp immediately went down to around 260F. At 340F the "High Temp" flashes and you are supposed to stop.
No apparent damage although some have suggested I change the oil. I'll be going to 20W-50 next oil change. This bike does not like to sit still.

Seems too hot to me, I'v seen 250f + on stock hypers at the track on a summer day, but 270+ is getting too hot.
Do what Ben says, and get a oversized oil cooler, they do help, and do a oil change as soon as you can. Aloha Alex

Yeah, I was tinking a bigger oil cooler. Definitely an oil change is in order. 330?! No way! I had seen like 260 something on a 100+ degree day, but 330? that's freakin' CRAZY!!! Damn...

I remember those days before I moved to California. These Cali riders have no idea how good they have it.
As for the OP's question, cousins 796 a few days ago, sunny 101 degrees on Highway 94 border checkpoint got to 255F while stuck in line.

246 pushing it at the track in 90+ F and 90% humidity. I was hotter than the bike that day, I swear! I started short shifting and I was overheating my front PP2 too that day.

I must have the "hottest" Hyper around . . . I regularly see 270-280 in normal stop and go driving around the city (with a full exhaust).
