Hyper Full System/ECU/Air intake questions.
OK, so I'm thinking of upgrading my Hyper (2008 HM1100) with a full system, mainly for a better sound and to open up the restrictions. I really like the Zard Penta full system. I have a few minor questions.
Besides the Termi and Zard, any other Full systems that keep the stock undertail config?
Is getting the stock ECU re-flashed as viable an option as getting the DP ECU and if so what is the cost savings? Or is getting a programmable ECU like Micro-tec or Nemesis a better way to go?
I also plan on getting the Ducshop pods. what others are comparable to them if any?
Appreciate any help, have looked through way too many threads trying to find the exact info I want.
I think we need a thread similar to the picture thread for mods, like Exhaust/ECU/Airbox configurations
FWIW, I got the Termi Full system on my 848 with DP race ECU and air filter, as I really don't even want to mess with constantly tweaking my racebike, so for the Hyper which is for street and the occasional trackday, I'd prefer a set it and forget it Ron Popiel type approach. I'm hesitant to get in there and start messing with it at all, as I just want it to run right and don't want any problems.
Which shop in the USA is the foremost authority on the Hyper?

Undertail, you can check termignoni, Zard (penta or top gun), NCR (made by Zard), Arrow, Remus, Leo Vince.
Lookwise, Fresco slip-ons are the closest to the Termi 2-2
Arrow is also making a headers kit, to fit their slip-on
Zard and Termognoni headers kit are the same. They will fit Termognogni, Zard and stock slip-ons.
The titanium NCR headers kit will fit the same slip-ons as the kit mentioned above.
Last, SC Project 2-2, a little bit different but very nice.

For the price of a re-flash (which is around 300$) I would instead buy a DP ECU from ebay or from a Ducati.ms member.
I like to know that I have my stock ECU, in case I need to rebuilt the Hyper in its stock configuration.
Microtec or Nemesis are great products, no doubt about it.
But I would instead go for a PCV, that offer more than enough options and settings for a basic configuration and that pretty much every Dyno shop can tune.

TPO (2 different kit) and WASP (kit that include a PCIII, brackets for the coils, outerwears pre-filter and the stacks).

Sounds like we are going down the same path. Here is my setup:
Full Arrow Exhaust: uncorked
Cams ECU: Allows an open exhaust loop no O2 sensor required.
Ducstacks
Bike runs great no isses after 4K miles.

And if you wonder how the stacks will sound:
Click 1080p HD, skip to 1:12 min, turn your speakers up and enjoy!

go with dp race ecu and power commander..i say this over nemisis and m/t cause there is more dynatec dynos out there to get it properly tuned..thus many places w/dynatec wont tune the other systems...even though they are both superb products.

I believe there's a difference between the Race and Cams ECU, When adding a full system and the Ducshop stacks, would the CAMS ECU be a better choice than the Race ECU? Is adding a PC to this set up a given, or something that's not really needed?
Both Race and Cams ECU eliminates the O2 and exhaust flapper (IF I'm not mistaken)
Is there a sound difference between the 2-1, and the 2-2 full systems? Any Performance differences?
ATM It looks like:
Full Exhaust
Ducshop Pods
ECU (Which one still to be determined)
I'd prefer not to have to add a PC and tuning if I'm not getting much out of it.

That would be ducati.ms member Z0RR0 driving my Hypermotard and testing the addictive intake noise.

Aha. Cool!
Your bike almost sounds the same as mine. Your vid is helping me through the winter.

If you work with a good tuner/dyno guy, no PC is needed. When the guys at European Cycle Services tuned mine (93.5hp, 73 torque), I asked if we should add a PC and they indicated that there would be so little additional benefit, it wouldn't be worth the expense.
Their racers got a few National Championships this year on various Ducs, so I pretty comfortable in their guidance...
