For those of you that have saftey wired your Hyper...
...How in the world did you wire the front axle pinch bolts? On my 996 they are an exposed bolt, on the Hype they are recessed allen heads. Is there some sort of replacement bolt I can use?

Are you racing it, or just for a trackday??
I ask because I had an R6 that I raced with CCS and never had to wire the calibers or the axle bolts. Just stuff with fluids behind them.
I know the AMA requires more than CCS ever did but most trackday organizations do not require much at all.
You might want to check into the EXACT requirements before you go through all the trouble, if you haven't already, of course.

My 848 is the same way, I just don't wire them and tech doesn't even see them. If you're worried about them, a dab of silicone will be fine.

Silicone should work ok.
But if you really want to wire them, they can be done!

Rich, I replaced mine with some SS ones that have a slightly taller crown. I believe they are a few mm longer too, so I installed one of those black hard plastic washers (Zytel?) so that it would stand away from the fork a little more. It is the best that I could come up with. Torqued them then wired them with no problems.
I've wondered if those Ti bolts with the tall crown would work too.

Thanks guys, If I do wire it, it will be for racing. Ever since I saw the vid of that Canadian guy racing one Ive had a bug to do it. I dont really ride it on the street anymore so I might as well punish it on the track. WMRRA requires them to be wired, and I've got to wire the axle bolt too. The pinch bolt works well to wire the axle bolt to. Thanks again!

Be careful with those stainless fasteners in aluminum due to strong galvanic corrosion. Aluminum hates stainless steel fasteners. I work with packaging equipment and see this on a daily basis. The aluminum always loses.

It's annoying but not horrible difficult, you can drill through a bit of the fork leg and then angle into the head of the bolt or carefully just angle into the bolt (drill presses rock for this) and it'll be enough of a hole to slide wire through.
The easiest if of course a bolt with a taller head or go the bicycle clamp route.

Popular mod for endurance racing, you use a bicycle axle with the flip up lever in place of the pinch bolts. Not as tight as pinch bolts but functional enough for racing and speeds up tire changes.
