Airbox Blanket?!?!?

Finally recieved my Termignoni exhaust.
Whats the deal with the blanket on top of the airbox?
Is it really needed?

im not sure, when i did my air box mod i just cut around the filter area and put it back in.my guess is so things dont rub and get messed up?

alex,
i am guessing that later production model hypertards have been delivered with an airbox blanket ... as our first year models did not come with these. i am guessing that these were added later on after intro, to help pass EU noise emission testing.

i have seen these blankets listed on fleaybay as being parted out from wrecked hypertards.

can't be a safety issue, as i am certain ducati would have issued a factory service bulletin on this if it were.

I couldn't find it on my Hyper either. (08 model).

It is just a noise emissions, nothing more than that, get rid of it.

Mi '09 S used to have that felt fürshür... then smartly swapped for Ducshop stacks.

Dont think its a Model year thing my 08 had the blanket, now gone also due to wasp stacks

I cant see how it would work for emissions, I assumed it was to protect the tank from plastic-plastic contact with the air box
