EXVL 23.5 /23.1 cannot clear codes

Hi There,

New to the forum so this is my first post.

New to the technology on the new ducs and my bike only got 5800 kms on it 2009 hypermotard 1100 S and the CEL is on throwing the error codes EXVL 23.1 and 23.5

Now did all the standard checks,
Checked servo- spins when connected to a battery
Checked wiring- Continuous right up to Display
Checked Cables-no play and taut

But i still can't seem to clear the codes and the engine light.

I'm in Cambodia and We dont have a dealer here so there is no software in country- but my mechanic says there is no way to clear the codes unless i have the ducati software.

This happened on a hard ride into the hills with lots of downhill engine braking on closed throttle, so dunno if this caused the problem.

Could it be the ECU, if it is then would rather switch out to an aftermarket one that i can fiddle with here as it comes with it's own software and cables, so i don;t need to go to a dealer ( closest one is in Thailand )

Any views are welcome.....

p.s. i know there are heaps of threads related to the flapper valve on the forum , but trust me when i say i have tried everything that's on here and it's not clearing the codes.

Cheers

Have you tried to disconnect the battery? If it's still there after, i'll say there is something not working correct!! A fault will normally go away when fixed!

Done this already, Actually first thing i did and no joy.

Any thoughts on whether i should switch out to another aftermarket ECU so i can play around with it locally as we have no dealer here?

I thought the VDST would clear codes. Check with TechnoResearch's website.

You can move it manually thru the dash menus
mode button up
key on
scroll thru menu to EXVL
mode button down 5 seconds?
then you will have manual control
My guess it may be stuck, or cables loose.

Hi CDona,

Tried that, doesn't move, checked the wires, they have different voltages coming through and the servo works when connected to a separate battery , just that there is no movement when hooked up to the 6 pin plug, This is really frustrating , Thinking of ordering the VDST for the bike but shipping to Cambodia takes a lifetime.

The cables have no play at all...Dunno what it is but i'm stumped

Thanks

cheers
