Question DP cams

Do you know if the cams Part number : 14812441B and 14812451B are the same as in the HM cam kit c/w ECU part number:96451008B.

I would like to buy the cams but not the ECU, and if they are the same, i can tell you that the price of the Cam ECU in the kit is : $463.00 too much for a fixe ECU in my mind.

Back in 08 the cams kit was the cheapest way to get the DP ECU

I used the cams ECU for a year before installing the cams
I do believe that the PC's work better on the DP ECU as they are a open loop system and you will not get any dash codes, the stock ECU is a closed system.

The DP cams ECU can handle about 90% of all the mods out there. Aloha Alex

Cams are same or not ?

Thank's Alex, but i prefer to put the $463.00 saving on a Microtech( if the cams are the same as in the cam Kit) and be able to tweak it myself , than be dependant from a Ducati shop that doesn't know what they have to do with the DP ECU if not right. Also the DP ECU seems to be very limited in what parameter you can change on it.
So does the cams are the same or not ?
Somebody know ?

In the past the only way to get the cams was to purchase the whole package. You may also post up that you just want to purchase the cams and someone like Alex may have them after installing only the ecu.

Check out Commonwealth Motorcycles Ducati & Triumph OEM Parts, Performance Accessories & Apparel they list the cams by them selves. You might also check with the ducshop as they have a great deal on the microtech ecu.

These cams: Ducati 1000/1100 DS Racing Camshafts (99721) | ducati parts, ducati clothes and ducati OEM -$752.80 for the pair.

Are the same that are in this cam kit: Ducati Hypermotard 1100/1100S Racing Camshafts (96451008B) | ducati parts, ducati clothes and -$828.80 for the kit.

For a $76 difference it makes more sense to get the cam kit and then sell the ECU for $200 or so.

Thumbs up

I check back, and your absolutely right, its $365.50 each and not for the set( like i was thinking).
So the cam kit c/w ECU is a no brainer, if it doesn't fit my set up i'll sold it then.It worth trying it for sure.

Thank's to all !
