'10 dash in '08-'09?
Pretty much all in the title.
What can be done to retrofit a sleek '10 dash into an earlier HM? If at all possible ...

if you find one on ebay, probably have to get the dealer to do some programming, if even possible.

First, a second hand dash is coded.
Second, the EVO use an ECU Siemens, the earlier model use a M-M ECU so I think it's not possible.

Why would you? The old dash is pretty much the same as the new dash and better visible on a bright summer day, and in the dark the new dash is to bright.(old 1100 vs new 796)

It was just a thinking out loud stuff, but I do like the design of the newer one more. kaloo makes a good point ... different CPUs most likely mean no compatibility.

Ask Jo if he would let you borrow his 796 dash...
Anyway, for the price of a new dash, you might aswell try to fit a AIM MXL dash.

And don't forget the mileage on your Hyper will be reset to 0 since this is stored in the dash.

Not yet, still debating between a few different models ... most of which you're already familiar with, actually! HM, 1098, SXV (I know you're gonna say "bad idea for the street" hahaha), Super Duke ... managed to sort of rule out the Streetfighter because I didn't like its looks enough.
Aiming for a 1098 lately ... if you hear of any good deals drop me a PM. There's one in Cowansville that's been on lespac for a while ... not bad at 12,5k (asking price), but compared to 9-10k in the US (usually with goodies, too) ... not sure if the hassle of importing a bike is worth 3k.
Will probably at least go and check it out over the weekend. Another one in Gatineau ... and then a bunch @14k.
