Is this as good as it gets?
I know the surging and popping is typical of the stock hyper, and i used the fatduc to remedy the problem until I found some $$$. At the beginning of last season I had the DP cam kit, ecu and 2 into 1 termi installed. My 08 ran better than it ever had. However as the summer went on I felt like the surging under 3500 rpm returned as did the popping on decelleration. The Throttle remains abrupt and I have to ride through town in 3rd gear to avoid the on/off jerkiness.
Should I plan on having the ecu remapped at the dealer? Hoe often?
Am I being to finicky? Is this the nature of a 100 hp twin with 70+ ftlbs of torque. Do I need to get over it?

add:
1. Power commander
2. Custom Map
3. Lightened flywheel
Then sit back and be grateful you have a hyper that already registered 100 hp on the dyno.

All big twins out of the box need work as they are all set up to EU3 now which means as lean as hell.
My KTM 990 SMR was crap until the AKRA map, it is better but still abrupt.
I don't worry too much as we ride open road a lot and round town very little.

Excuse me here for my rant,
I do not think that the fuel we use here in the states has any kind of consistency with the clean burning additives (MBTE, EA 10) and base gasoline. Add to that the anti deposit mixture that is touted by the big brand gas companies (V-power, Techron, platformate) A delivery driver told me that additives are blended @ the tanker truck, and can vary due to destination and time of year (summer/winter) blend. Not tested for actual blend concentrations, blending errors mechanical & human do happen (you think refineries dump mistakes?) so there is a +/- issue that your ECU has to deal with. Additives will reduce your BANG for a buck and reduce milage. And the variable of what is in the gas station's tank at the time. Are european bikes tested with our (special) blends?
Thank you for your patience, , ,
