Does a 520 kit require a quick change setup?

Hey folks I will preface this with I searched first.

I am thinking on getting the 520 chain kit 14/43 gearing and was told I need a quick change sprocket carrier to do that. Is that true?

If so the cost to do that mod it is amplified greatly...

Thanks in advance!

a quick change set up is NOT required to convert down to a 520 chain.

all that is required is the sprockets and chain. plenty of groups make 520 conversion kits for ducatis.

you can even get DP sprockets and chain if you want.

Nope, DP does not offer any 43T options with a 520 pitch.

The DP teeth for the DP quick change carrier are only available (at least on the catalog) with a pitch of 525.
The DP light alloy rear sprocket is also available only with a 525 pitch.

Solution would be a SuperSprox sprocket, or a quick change setup such as Driven USA or AFAM.

ok, maybe DP does not offer a 43 rear in 520 size ... they used to, but perhaps these have been dropped.

d.i.d. makes a 520 kit in 14/43 configuration that is not a quick change system.
