Removing the rear wheel off the Hyper is...
so freakin' easy it's almost criminal!
I have owned many bikes and a few with Single Sided Swingarm but this is by far the easiest. No caliper, pads, muffler, chain, or fender to remove.
I put the rear up with my Pitbull stand, even left the bike in neutral, pulled off the cotter pin, lightly stepped on the rear brake pedal and took the nut off and voila the wheel came right off. Took all of about a minute.
I don't even have to look up the axle nut torque figure because it is stamped right on the wheel! 176Nm.

176 NM is about 144 ft lbs. It shouldn't be easy to remover the nut.

(+1) I need to have the Hyper on the ground, have my son/friend press the rear brake, and use a big breaker bar to get the nut loose. Aloha Alex

Easy as long as you have the right size socket!

Glad to hear yours came off so easy I almost had a stroke trying to get mine loose. Finally took the 2' long centering rod from my tire hanger and put it on the 18" breaker bar I was using and leaned on it will all I could muster, it snapped and came loose. I won't claim to be a big guy but it shouldn't take that much pressure from someone 6'0" and 185 #s, IMHO I'm going to balance and re-torque it before our next track day 10/5.

Nice to know it's so easy. I'll mos def be taking it off myself next time I need new rubber.
On second thought, maybe it's a little too easy? I'd hate to step outside the bar after having a cool beer on ice only to see my girl on blocks with no rear

176Nm is just a shade under 130ft/lbs.
I am actually surprised to hear that a full grown man would have difficulty loosening a nut torqued to only 130ft/lbs.
A car wheel lug nut's proper torque is usually around 90 to 150 ft/lbs. I mean you guys can easily take a lug nut off can't you? Something doesn't sound right.
And yes a proper socket made for the Ducati axle nut is a must.
