flaking paint
i remember that there was a thread on here before about the paint flaking off the engine of the hypers and i have noticed that it has now started on mine. what was the out come? Did the dealers take responsibility or not or what do i need to do?

mines flaking near the front of the front cyl (behind the oil cooler) It annoys me but really isn't noticeable unless you inspect closely.

Just noticed, flaking paint on the cylinder case...
Mine is flaking. I think all the 08's flake. I think you can have the case's replaced if you still have a warranty.

i read the thread from before and everyone was having a cow about it !!! doesnt bother me and im very anal about my bike, i figure ill just use cellulose pad to clean it up on the areas where its flaking and then you wont even see it.

When I take my bike in for belts at the end of the season, I'm going to bring it up and see what they say. I still got warranty left so why not get it looking new if it's covered. I'll let you know what they say.

Does the flaking paint apply to the 2010 796's or just the older bikes? I am a brand new owner of an 2010 796 and just seeing what I need to look out for if anything.

Seriously though I agree with this, you pay top buck for a lusty bike you (I) expect it to look like one.
