depends on the tire compound, your riding style, fork settings and tire pressure. i.e.: ymmv.
on the stock bridgestons (i have a base model hyper), i got a little over 3,500 miles out of the rear tire and the front still had another 2,000 miles no problem, but i swapped out the set and replaced with pirelli scorpions and got about 6,500 miles out of that rear and again the front had another 2,000 in it.
now with the bridgestone bt003 set on, i have a little over 3,000 on them ... the rear is starting to flatspot and the front still looks fresh.
btw, setting up your forks properly will help to increase tire mileage for the front tire, as it will help slow down cupping and other wear due to improper setting.

I replaced the original Michelin Sports on my CBR at 11,000 mile +. A lot of people on the CBR forum called BS on this as according to them, they supposedly don't last much more than 3,000-4,000 miles.
