Hypermotard handlebar movement

The hyper's bar is connected via rubber mounts to the triples, which I'm sure helps with vibration. Problem is that i'm starting to notice that it moves around quite a bit in aggressive riding... as I enter a turn i can almost lift it a bit, push it a bit before I get actual movement from the steering head. If you hold your bike still and lift/push on the handlebar you'll notice what I mean.

anyone else notice this? i was riding especially hard yesterday in the twisties and it got to be quite unnerving. I've noticed it before but want to do something about it now... ideas?

Seriously you are riding the bars too hard and pretty much torturing yourself.

You have wide bars which you should be able to ride with good results without twisting things up, suggest maybe looking at your riding style when you are up it and working with the bike as opposed to against it.

+1

Alex, you should be able to release the pressure from your palms and even wiggle your fingers while turning.

With the leverage these wide bars provide, the only way I could even imagine you have to push that hard on them is during a low speed full lean from one side to full lean to the other and if that's the case, you don't need our help in telling you how to ride.

I guess if the rubbers are getting worn out, that could be noticeable. I have the Scotts Damper and it came with a new triple clamp set up, problem solved.

After several track days I have not noticed any movement in the bars. I agree with the other posters, a quick firm push to start the turn then very light if any pressure.

I don't think the rizoma risers replace the rubber mounts because they are in the top triple clamp. Alot of supermoto racers replace the rubber mounts with solid mounts to make the steering more responsive. I thought about making a set for my hyper. Should we make some up? How many of you would be interested?

Maybe putting road rubber on the KTM EXC and flogging it might be more appropriate than twisting the Hyper's head off?
