Advice Needed 1100 EVO or EVO SP
Hi All,
Looking at getting an 1100 EVO or the SP version. Went to the local dealer and he told me to get the SP because there is such a difference in the suspension and few other things that are needed for a good ride.
I am no Rossi on 2 wheels but does the average street rider, probable no track days for me, need the SP or is the regular EVO ok.
Learned alot on this forum and was a Monster guy till I rode the 1100 Hyper, no MOnster for me.
If anyone could pass on there advice on what the big differences are between the two and would it be better to save some jack for the addon mods by buying the EVO over the SP.
Thanks to all.

I think the rear shock and lighter wheels are worth it, the front forks not so much. The paint scheme and carbon bits are fun too.
Best success with the hunt,

average street rider, no track days...
i would just go for the base model. unless you got the extra $$$ to spend. i got an 09 1100 base model, my buddy got the 796. i also am an average street, commute to work, no track day rider, and believe it or not, i enjoy riding his 796 over my 1100. i wound be nice if ducati makes 796s model.

mate i feel unless you are a , a crazy road rider , or wanting to do track days. by the EVO the SP is somewhat taller much firmer in the fork..the reason i got the SP was i got a good deal..i wanted the extra ground clearence i like the higher position and more aggressive bar mounts..oh and the white / red paint job...but most journo's have stated for purley road use the EVO is a bit easier on you that the SP (for what that is worth) johnnie
however if you find yourself wanting to buy some carbon, some rearsets, and suspension tweaks..you will save money in the long run getting a deal on a SP
food for thought
