$30.00 engine saver!
Well a couple of weeks back, I threw my chain, and now I'm in the process of replacing both my sprockets & chain, and guess what I found out after taking everything apart, my chain had hit my case guard, HARD! enough to distort it and put in a couple of groves.
I put on the case guard back in 08 when I first got the bike, something I used to do to all my dirt bikes, it was cheap enough & easy to install.
I am convinced that this little case guard may have prevented a MAJOR CATASTROPHE, (and expense) and I am suggesting that everyone should get one, as one never knows............... Aloha Alex

Sorry, I can't remember who I got mine from, but you can get the one pictured here, (just like mine) from www.motowheels.com
They call it the COX Ducati case/chain guard, its listed in the drive train section. Aloha Alex

Size 520 or 525 stock? I kept mine 525 ( DID/supersprocket stealth)for the extra torque and many people say the 520 is fine. "race bikes have 'em". Guess what? Race bikes throw chains.
Or do you have 525 and I wind up lookin sheepish?

They are a great idea, I fitted one to my last two ducatis.
