Smile First Ride Ever on a Hyper WOW!!!

Hi Everyone first time caller and newbie here.
I currently own a Kaw ZX12R and went to the local dealer who also sells Ducatis. He said to take this Hyper, new 1100 EVO SP version, out for a test ride. Well 6 hours later I finally returned. Wow what fun, dont know if I can get back on that ZX12 anytime soon. The twistys where just out of this world. Even the stock seat was comfy. When I bought my 12 the stock seat was the first to go. The clutch was great, engine had great torque.
This was my first time on any Ducati machine and I was very impressed.

I have one concern about the Hyper. I took it out on the highway for about 30 miles to see how it did and the bike performed superbly but the wind blast was a killer. At 60 to 70 mph it wasnt bad but when you kicked it in too gear and got some speed you could really get buffeted around. I'd consider trading in my overweight 12 for that fine Italian machine tomorrow if I could some how diminish that wind blast. Has anyone here put on some sort of wind screen and does it do the job from stopping that jet blast on your chest?
I do some highway cruising and except for the wind the Hyper did that great as well as the twistys.

Thanks to all in advance for any info on my question or future purchase, hopefully
Cheers,
Dusty

fabbri windscreen

i have an 08 1100s on its way and did a lot of research on the wind blast before purchasing , [after owning a mv agusta brutale a few years back and had trouble with it on that too i thought i better look into it first.] , i talked with pj from pj parts and i ordered a fabbri windscreen in black satin, he has one on his bike and looks great, suppose to really help out with the blast.they make them in clear, tint and black satin.about 92.00

after riding naked bikes a while you get used to the wind blast, your helmet has a lot to do with it too, if you have a crappy icon helmet or other generic non aerodynamic helmet you will have a tiring ride, if you have a nicer top end helmet you dont notice it to much. I have a HM1100S w/ no screen and have no problems cruising at 70+, it doesn't bother me until I am upwards of 115+

just checked out the windscreen, it's actually pretty cool looking in my opinion, would love to see a clear version.

i have the ducati performance screen and i find that it keeps the wind of me enough. i took a triumph tiger out on saturday for a test ride and was really disappointed with the amount of wind i got on it. It seems to be that the wind goes around the screen on it and comes in and buffetts you about but i think that the hyper is made in such a streamline way and with a small screen on it the wind goes over you head

In my opinion part of the Hyper fun is riding without a windscreen.

I kind of agree. The combo of the naked front, bolt upright seating and the tall seat height puts me right in the blast of the wind.

Do they make that Fabbri screen in light smoke?
