Trading Superbike for Supermoto
I'm thinking of getting rid of my 1098 to get a Hyper.
Has anyone recently made the switch?? Any regretts?
I still like doing the twisties..but overall I find myself slowing down quite a bit.
I recently bought a Harley and still kept the 1098. I didn't want to give up the sportbike. But now..I'm thinking I might get more use out of a Hyper.

Keep the 1098, buy a hyper and loose the Harley in the process...

I have a Hyper and ride a superbike from time to time. If I could only have one bike it would probably be the Hyper. For the street the Hyper is way more fun and comfortable. I use the Hyper on the track but have recently picked up a 749r for that purpose. The Hyper is fun but I really enjoy the feel of the superbike when I'm on a track.

I recently returned my 1198 back to stock condition and will be posting it up for sale, I am going to buy a Hyper. For track riding the 1198 is supreme, but for street riding, I am pretty sure I will enjoy the Hyper more. The times that I had the most fun on the 1198 were quickly followed by flashing red and blue lights behind me, so if I can have fun at lower speeds on the Hyper than that's what I am going to do. I like to say that the 1198 starts being fun at over 100 MPH, where the Hyper is a blast to ride anywhere between 30 to 90 MPH...

I 100% agree with this.. I hated my R1 for that reason.

I had a 2002 ST4s prior to they Hyper. No regrets.
I know, not a superbike really, but it did have the 996 engine.

Having owned a Sportbike, Supermotard, and the Hyper...I can honestly say that for me personally I had the most fun on the Supermotard. Again, this is just my opinion. Reason why, because the SM was limited to under 100MPH+ for the most part, was amazing in the turns, and I was able to go off road/urban type stuff when ever I wanted. Nothing like hopping a curb, pulling a wheelie, then chucking it into the first corner that I hit.
Don't get me wrong...the Hyper is a blast. But I think for me, I am getting older and am always afraid of getting a ticket or laying it down on the street when riding aggressively. The Supermotard gave me a taste of what a Dual Sport offers, and right now I would love to get that new Yamaha Super Tenere.

Come to the dark side . I have never had a bike longer then 6 months. I'm going on my 3rd year with the hyper , that to me says alot . All round best ride for me on the road. I have a 08 r1 track bike for a safe ,fast place to ride that beast. Best of luck.
