Any difference in the termi 2-1-1 and 2-1-2

About to pull the trigger on a full exhaust. Just wondering if there's any performance difference between the two styles of Termi complete exhausts, besides the obvious look. I'm torn between the two. I like the traditional under tail look, but also love the single side look.

2 into 1 is lighter (not sure by how much) + it's a full exhaust so that = more horsepower and less restriction (someone more mechanically inclided can specify - this what I've heard).

Based on the above and look, I went with the 2 into 1. Install is expensive though...account for around an additional $300 for a Duc mechanic (if you don't do it yourself)! It does take quite a bit of time.

Thanks for the answer.

$300 for the install is pretty expensive. Did they have to do any tuning? I thought it was just plug and go. I think I'm leaning more towards the
2-1.

Would you know if there's a write up somewhere on the install?

my exhaust didn't come with mounting instructions and took me 8 hours to figure out and get installed! You will need to have your TPS set and your fuel trim adjusted. Before I had them adjusted, I was running very rich and was getting 60+ miles per tank.

I believe you can get a full-system now using DP collectors, Arrow headers (I believe) and the dual slipons.

I think they both look great. I imagine the dual undertail would survive better in a crash. I hate seeing my $2100 exhuast kit hanging out there in the wind.

the installation instructions that come with the DP termi 2/1 system leave a lot to be desired, as they are a b/w copy of a copy of a copy ... i have posted up a full color PDF version here:
http://www.norcaldoc.com/ldd/LDD2009/DP_termi_hyper.pdf
that make the installation a LOT easier to understand/follow.

you can get termi headers with the seimens ecu fro the 2-2 muffs
from the duc store dyno here in melb difference is around a 1 hp loss (to the 2-1) and around 1.6kgs heaverier (oh 3.5 lbs sorry) due to the extra muffler and conecting pipe..

i know in oz when fitted the bikes are all dyno'd to adjust full trim etc and re-set tps...and get a hp graph ..before and after

I went with the 2into1 and I can feel a difference in weight. Do the install your self it's not that hard and is rewarding after your done. Just get the TPS reset at the dealer you'll save a good amount. Performance is a noticeable difference and runs much smoother. I got my exhaust on ebay a lot cheaper than from a dealer look there first. John C's instructions were a big help from the one you get with the exhaust by the way.

Thanks a million guys. I'm going with the 2-1 and will attempt the install myself. Now I just have to hit the lottery to put my order in

I opted for the 2-1 and did the install myself. The install does take a bit of time even with the instructions simply because of fitting the kit (each bike is slightly different as well as each kit may not be perfect). What I did do was use the money I would have paid the dealer for the install and bought the VDSTS software from CA Cycle works. With it you can reset your TPS, adjust your fuel trim to your liking and reset the maint reminders that you would also have to pay a dealer to do as well as many other things. You may not use it everyday, but it is nice to have when you need it. Just my 0.02.
