Handgaurd screws vibrated loose

Just noticed 3 of the 4 screws holding on the front of the handgaurds to where the mirrors are attached have vibrated loose.

Visited the dealer yesterday and thought they would have some spare hardware around. They informed me you can't buy individual hardware and would need to buy the whole handgaurd assembly!

Im sure I can go to the hardware store and get something close but was hoping to get original hardware which I guess isn't possible. Need screws as well as square blocks they screw into.

Anyone else had this happen to them?

Yes, I went thru everything on the bars, tank plastic and found them less than tight.

I went to the hardware store found the standard thread square nuts were the right outside measurement to fit (the metric were too big), drilled and retapped them for the metric thread.Used stainless button head hexs bolts. Everything out of those cardboard draws at the local hardware store.

I tapped mirrors with a car while cutting traffic the other day. Both tabs broke completely off. Thank god for crazy glue. Holding good 250 miles later.

Yes the dealer wants an arm and a leg for replacement handgaurds!

I removed my handguards for a track day and lost one set of the brass colored pieces that fit inside the bar that squish together when you tighten the allen screw at the end of the bar. Does anyone know a source to get replacements? I am holding the whole assembly on with zip ties now.

They appear to be available through Ducati, at 27.98 for both pieces.
