Hyper Tool Box
I need a place to store my registration, and the tool kit on the Hyper. I know the tool kit goes in side the fairing , but o-rings break. So I looked around and found a Suzuki DR-650 tool case.
I ordered it new from a local dealer here's the part#
I had to move the rubber hinge to the top, and file the top loops a little, but it bolts up to the muffler support.

Pretty good idea.
My strap fell off too and the toolbag was bouncing around loose inside the shroud as well. I tossed it in my Ducati Handlebar bag. If I did not have that bag, I would probably do something similar to what you did. I love the handlebar bag though. It is incredibly useful.

I've never seen one of those bags mounted. Got a picture? Are they waterproof? Would fit around a steering damper?

This isn't my pic but from another member on this site.
I suppose you could make it fit over a damper...it wouldn't lay nice and flat though.

Good idea, but are you sure the rear tire won't hit it, if you bottom out? Aloha Alex

I always wondered what the Hyper would look like if it were a Honda 400EX (ATV). I wonder if you could incorporate you license plate on this mount to give it a dual purpose and improve the aesthetics. Otherwise, I think you could get it mounted in the front fairing by mounting it to the black cover.
Out!

The tire would hit the muffler before the tool box. I am working on a mount to angle it back toward the gas tank, but it will take a little time.

I bottomed jumping the train tracks back in St. Tammany Parish. If You notice the plate is bent inboard slightly--Yeh Chicken Strips. Louisiana was straight. Plan to change that here in SoCal--Then again, Your tool kit sits farther inboard. It should be fine.

No issues here with my license plate rubbing at all. This is just a work in progress, I need to redo the bracket, but its functional for now. I did put a slight curve on the bottom of the plate just in case, but it hasnt touched yet. To check clearance, I sat on the bike stationary (235 lbs) with my girlfriends daughter on the back (125 lbs) and had her jump on the pegs to rock the suspension. My girlfriend watched and we never came too close to the tire (stayed over an inch away at least she said). The last photo is the bike stationary with no rider at this time. Heres what it looks like right now...
