I'm curious, I've had my Hyper 796 for 10 weeks now and have done 3200 miles so far, weekly average 320 miles. Many people I speak with seem to think this is high

What sort of mileage per week would be considered average in your experience?

as long as you can afford $$$$ the maintenance, tires, brakes etc., it's never too high.

If you use it to commute to work that not too high.

i got my bike 4-27-10 with 2k miles on it
i started riding it in may - i now have 7700 miles

I had my Hyper for about an year an commuted 110miles everyday on it, an it had 24000miles on it. Sadly tho she got totaled last thursday i miss her already

I get a solid 50MPG with my 796 and have 4000miles on it so far, I check the mpg almost evertime I full up and I also run the bike pretty hard to.

Sorry to read of your loss, your milage and commitment, not to mention the presumed reliabilty of your experience is outstanding. Did you use standard maintenance intervals?

I do about 15k miles a year, but I walk to work (1/2 mile each way, 4x/day). If I had to commute, it would be more.

Now that summer's over, I'll go back to doing 40 mile rides at lunchtime in the Alps (too hot in summer)

Ahhhh the Alps! Did the Stelvio pass last year. I will be crossing the Alps next year between Lanslebourg Mont Cenis and Susa on the way to the factory in Bologna......... you in that area? Would like to know some places to visit en route!

Yeah. I followed the intervals like a good boy should seeing as i work at a dealership lol. I had to no relabiltiy problems with her at all. I changed the oil every 3000 to 3500 miles an did the service when i was supposed to. She always ran like a champ an not once left me stranded.
