Help with Oil filter leak
I just changed the oil on my 2008 Hyper and am now getting a leak from the oil filter when the engine is running.
Have I under / over tightened the filter? If over tightened and I need to replace it, do I need to start from scratch and empty all of the oil and start again?

Check to see if the old filter has the rubber gasket on it. It's possible you left it stuck to the mating surface when you put the new filter on.

yes, only about 1/4 of a quart or less should come out from removing filter, take filter off,get that old gasket off from other filter, and using a clean rag wipe around up in where the filter goes for any debris, pour some oil in new filter and reinstall, then start bike and get her warm and check level add oil if needed.

got it
took th eold "new" filetr out and the old seal fell out. Cleaned the filter and put it back in. still some oil leaking but I think this is residual. Have cleaned around the filter and will leave it for a while to check for leaks.
Thanks to all for the help
