Hyper 1100 evo SP advice needed.
Hey guys , looking for some advice about my new acquisition. Picked myself up a new Hyper evo SP about 6 weeks ago and whilst I love the feel and ride position of the bike I'm not happy with the way the engine seems to be running.
The power delivery seems to be surging on me but not just below 4k. While riding anywhere between 3k - 6k and holding the throttle at a constant speed the bike lurches back and forth much more that seems normal. If I'm riding relaxed it can cause my upper body to push back and forth several inches. This can be particularly unnerving if I'm cornering say in 2nd at around 4-5k as I don't feel like I have the control over the bike I should have.
I've also had four stalls out the blue when dropping off the throttle in 2nd usually around 25-30 mph. The bike is all stock.
I took it back to the dealers who said there was nothing wrong with it . Well after trying to live with it some more I'm not accepting that - somethings up.
Just wondering if any other evo owners have had similar experiences and what might be the cause...
Thanks for any suggestions.

Same here. Bike's in the shop for it's first service, and like with the new Multistrada (which I own as well), the answer lies in both the TPS and air valve screws to be adjusted.
Do a search in the Multistrada Forum, Surging thread.
See ya

Backfire is usually a symptom of a lean condition.
I've noticed my EVO to surge or be a little rough between 3-4k. I think this is partially because of a really light crank/fly wheel which makes it adherent to this particular engine. Other times it feels like a misfire for poor fuel delivery. I couple of weeks ago, I'm almost certain I bought bad gas. I was a ways up in the mountains and like and idiot I bought super unleaded from a small volume gas station. After refueling and riding a bit. I shut the bike down. On restart it didn't idle very well, and eventually died. This repeated 3 times..
I've been wondering about having a real tune job preformed on the engine. I've not done much home work on how the temi reflash works verses having a PC connected.

It is the exact same problem that the new Multistrada's are experiencing which is mainly a lean fuel issue associated with the stock ECU/closed loop system. . The only known remedies at the moment are either a full Termi exhaust kit with ECU and the TPS and air screw adjustment I mentioned above. It is well documented in the Multistrada forum if you want to read/learn more about the situation.

Throttle position sensor, that is where all the news starts, if this is set incorrectly the bike will never run right.
See you are in Oslo, we were in Oslo about 4 weeks ago, seriously cool Opera House you have there but unfriendly parking wardens

Thanks! I'm reading through that thread now - all 47 pages!
Sounds like my problems are very similar to the new Multistradas but up to higher rpms..
I'm still interested to hear if any other new hyper evo owners are having said problems as well...
