Who likes the stock handguards/mirrors?
I like em. I think it's a clean look (I only ride with the left mirror out). Also, a friend who rides a monster just broke his left hand by getting it crunched between the clutch lever and a suddenly opened car door (at only ~ 7MPH as well; he broke the bones on the top pf the hand, now he has 9 meat-skewers in there). A plus for handguards for sure..
Only problem is that lanesplitting is tougher, but I don't ride in traffic anyway, just curvy backroads.

i love em..best mirrors i have used...(never ran a road bike with mirrors ever) oh expt my R1 always found them usless... although on the duke i only fold out the LHS one (when on the bike) occasionally to glance if i am in a built up area..dual carrage-way i thinks yanks call it..other than that i turn em in..and use my head...
i feel that mirrors on pretty much anything with two wheels are a bit not practiacl..vibtation rattle etc..but maybe i will grow to dislike as most here do..but for now ..yipeeeeeeeee now you see em ...now you dont...perfect

I like the concept, functionality, and don't mind the look, but there not very practical around town.
Even with only one mirror out it still adds considerable width to the bike because of the already wide bars.
Also, from what I hear they're damn expensive to replace if you bust one up.
The problem I've had with removing them is it's almost impossible to find after market mirrors that look any good as a replacement.
The indicators are an easy fix but I'm still not happy with any mirrors I try on my bike.
I think the low style stalk Rizoma mirrors are probably the best alternative, but they're not cheap.

Like I wrote I my topic. I am one of the few who acually likes the stock handguards/mirrors.
I do admit they're not always that practical, but I like the look and the mirrors provide a pretty good view. With these you will never be staring at your own elbows...
I ride with both mirrors out, or paddling a canoe as some like to call it.
I close the right hand mirror when lane splitting and sometimes both. The difficulty then is to pop the right hand mirror back out, in the right position, and not letting the bike slow down too much on the freeway.
I'm not able to do that with my left hand, so I use my right hand and that means taking your hand of the throttle.

Personally I think my fold down KTM dirt bike mirrors are the best solution and the best looking.
The Hyper looks ultra tough with no mirrors visible and honestly who uses mirrors

I like the strange feeling on a Hyper that there is nothing in front of the speedo. I like not seeing my elbows but I think that the fact that the mirrors are smally on the outer edge reduces visibility (I know they would look crap if they got wider) and I have to fold them in all the time to split. Having said that, I'm getting better at putting them back in the right order so I don't have to let go of the throttle and to about the right spot with one go. I'd like to try conventional mirrors before I got rid of mine.

i like the stock mirrors and i used to ride witht just the left hand one out until one day i was out with a friend and as i was about to pass a lorry up a hill he seemed to come out of nowhere and went past me like a shot and if i had if had pulled out to pass the both of us would have been off. After that i decided to put a set of mirrors on from an Aprillia which are a really good job although i don't really like the look of them but at least i can see behind with out all that vibration. This last while i have been thinking of taking them off again as i like the look of the hyper the way she was built.
