Broken tank side covers.....
I just noticed that my tank covers bottom mount hole is broke off, (Left side) & cracked on the right side! this sucks, as these cover are expensive....
I tried to apply some JB weld to the broken piece, but it still came off.
Has anyone fixed this yet? if so how did you do it? thanks, Aloha Alex

Had the same one crack after a minor low-side. Epoxied mine & used a clamp until it was dry. As soon as I released the clamp it separated again.
Hope someone does have a good idea. Not that it's affecting anything, just annoyed knowing it's broke...

A super glue gel may work.

hey alex try calln a automobile paint store and ask for a 2-part panel to body agent or epoxy..forget the name of it...maybe everbond its used for putn plastic panels to steel body and it works very well almost to well!they will know what your talking about.that will definitely work for ya but its not cheap and it uses a special gun..but they may have something in smaller portions.if i lived near ya i would let you use mine...

Yep, fixed.
The problem is the mounting hole is 2-3mm too far back from the plastic panels locating point. Drill out the hole and then buy a rubber grommet and mount it into that

Had this issue now twice. First time it was replaced under warranty. Second time I fixed it. The problem are the few tools sitting in the cover.
I bent from 1mm aluminum some sort of bracket and glued it with 2-compo epoxy into the cover. Now it works for almost 5K. The epoxy glue is available in your DIY shop. There are different kinds, slow, normal and fast. I took that one which you can correct within the first 10min. I would not recommend one of these 1,2,3 sec glues.

I can't drill it out, the bottom of the mounting hole is now gone, I want to try and "epoxy/glue" A metal washer in its place, I just meed to find a product that will bond to the side cover material. (any help?) Aloha Alex
Johnc, I should have known you would bring back the "redneck" someday...

I read this the other night and it made me look at mine.. If my lower post was broken, I may have a simple fix.. Make a small L bracket that attaches to the metal post and use double sided 3M tape to attach bracket to inside of the tank. If the tape ever failed, replacing it would take minutes.. The stock plastic bracket is kinda a joke
