Newbie to the List with Modaholicism, Yoshi CF Can Install
New to the list but not new to MC's in general, been riding for many years on lots of different bike, this new to me 08 Hyper is only the second Italian bike I've owned, the first being Sears 106cc scrambler thingie.
So here's the first shot at tweaking the beastie. I was looking over the bike Sunday morning and after a few quick measurements it looked like an old Yoshi CF pipe I had laying on the shelve would slide on the up pipe/mid pipe if I cut it off just before the exhaust valve. Here's the result:

I need to have the mid pipe opened up a little at the local muffler shop that does hot rods etc. and works with SS all the time and then fab up a hanger bracket to attach the stock Yoshi CF can clamp. I've got an old GSXR undertail/plate mount zip tied in place and I think it an be easily modified to look pretty good and mount solidly.
Even with the rough fit and exhaust leak it sound pretty good. I pulled the dB killer out of the pipe and if I remove, er ah, test with the cat out, it may be too loud.
Excuse the junk in the background, too many projects going on at once.

I like the Yosh can. I had one on my FZ 1 and liked the performance and sound. It would be good to see it with a full header.

Looks good - based on the pic you've got it lined up perfect and nice and tight. One thing I never liked about the termi... they look like they are just hanging out there...
Good job!

Thanks for the comments/compliments folks, it's definitely a work in progress like most of our bikes.
The Yoshi CF can was on my 07 GSXR 1000, dual slip on system, not the full race deal. The inlet ID is just a tick bigger than the OD of the mid pipe and the angle is a little to high, maybe a degree or two of down turn and it will lay along the subframe on a parallel line. I'm hoping to get over to the muffler shop and have them expand the mid pipe soon but I' got some business travel coming up which will back burner all my MC projects. I will snap some better pictures and post them up here to help show the "conversion". It's definely not a slip right on and ride deal but it's not too bad either. figuring out a nice clean mount for the CF can hanger is going to be a little challenge but again it shouldn't be too bad.
The bar end mount is a Rizoma (sp) I think, the PO put the bar ends and mirror on and moved the turn signals down to the sides of the "gas tank". Not sure I like the safety aspect of having such small signals so low. Need to tweak that as well. I will snap a few pics of the bar ends and signals as well.

I had a monster before, and I used to take my girl every where some times 2 hours rides. Now I have the hyper and I still take her everywhere and she tells me that the hyper is more cormfortable for her.
Steve,
Welcome to the forum, the bike looks great with the yosh. Good luck keeping the bank account balance.
