Finally did It.... Low-sided the Hyper
Went out to Putnam Park this Sunday for my first track day. Three rounds of going out on the track went well....then it happened.... as I was approaching turn 8 as I passed some guy on the outside, started setting up for turn 8, and must have lost my concentration. I went into the grasss.
Hot tires and grass don't mix. I rolled upright for about 80-100 ft, then saw some trees and low-sided.
Broke the front and rear brake levers, sheared the bolt in the Shift-Tech adjustable pegs, passenger footpeg broken, intergrated turn signal broken, and CF exhaust cover cracked in multiple location. Oh, well... Paint faired better than expected in the grass. Buffin it out this weekend.
Not to mention, I ripped the ligament off the distal end of my ring finger.
Anyone have a spare OEM rear brake lever?
Now I have something to work on over the next month or so.

I might have a front brake lever laying around here somewhere. If I find it, I'll let you have it for post.

Lowsided my Hyper at Loudon 3 weeks ago. Coming out of turn 12 on to the strait. Really hot day the tires just let go. Axle sliders and Race handguards did their job. Ground the shifting knob down a little nothing major.
The tires were very smooth right near the edge afterwards, front and rear just on the left side.
The Damage
My friend went down going into turn 6 on his Hyper, no handguards. He bent the bars, broken clutch lever, shifter knob, and ground the fairing.

Glad to hear the damage was minimal. Funny how many times I have heard people talk about interactions or crashes influenced by trees along side tracks. The trees look nice, but have no place next to a track unless they are behind the safety fence.
I took my rear axle sliders off because I kept getting comments that they do nothing. I might just put them back on after seeing your photos.
I wish your bike a quick and inexpensive recovery.

Sorry to hear about this. But is the CF exhaust cover the OEM S model one?

Yes, I asked. DP replacement parts are not available. I used a couple of bronze bushings from the hardware store to fix it until I can get a replacement machined.
